The Naples Sailing and Yacht Club is seeking an Assistant Dock Master for an immediate opening.

The Assistant Dockmaster is one of the first people our members and guests will interact with when arriving by vessel. The Assistant Dockmaster is under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities and Marina Services and assists with the daily operations of the marina and serves as the lead on the docks. He/She assists with the security and maintenance of the marina and oversees and trains the dockhands. The Assistant Dockmaster ensures the safety and cleanliness of the marina and fuel operations and provides the highest level of guest service. Along with the Director of Facilities and Marina Services, they secure the marina and the Club vessels in the event of inclement weather.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets and provides the highest level of member/guest services and expedites any and all requests from members and guests.
- Performs routine cleaning duties that meet established quality standards for all marina-related operations and ensures the recognized standards are maintained.
- Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities and Marina Services, performs daily inspection of the docks and documents general repair and maintenance issues with the docks to maintain safety and cleanliness standards. Provides report to the Dockmaster.
- Always demonstrates safe work habits, including the proper care and use of all tools, equipment, vehicles, and hazardous materials, and observes all established health and safety regulations.
- Maintains a friendly, professional working relationship with co-workers, members, guests, and vendors.
- Provides general security and supports marina and facility service teams in their security-related efforts; reports disturbances in the dock area as needed.
- Provides safe disposal of all waste material.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Marina Services
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School degree or equivalent
- A broad knowledge of marina operations and equipment maintenance
- Proven skills or the willingness to be trained in administration, seamanship, communication, equipment maintenance, and marina operations
- A positive attitude, the ability to communicate proficiently, and the ability to relate to customers in a luxury environment
- Requires excellent interpersonal skills
- Must have high standards, a high level of accuracy, and a keen eye for detail
- Must be an excellent swimmer
- Must have a boater’s license
- Ability to work independently to achieve goals and targets;
- Ability to organize and prioritize work;
- Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and corporate goals;
- Must thrive in a fast-paced environment;
- Must have a flexible schedule, including working weekends and holidays during the busy season.
